act4nature Portugal is a business initiative promoted by BCSD Portugal in which member companies make joint and individual commitments for the conservation of biodiversity and ecosystem services.

Acuerdo de Voluntades para la Deforestación Cero en la Cadena de Aceite de Palma en Colombia

The Voluntary Agreement for Zero Deforestation in the Colombian Palm Oil Chain is a treaty promoted through the global initiative Tropical Forest Alliance 2020 (TFA 2020), created in 2012 and of which the Colombian Government has been a member since 2016, to fight deforestation linked to palm oil production in the country. Several civil society organisations, such as Proforest and WWF, support it. The Group has been a signatory of the agreement since May 2021 through Ara.

Business for Nature is a global coalition bringing together civil society, organisations and businesses to reverse nature loss. Business for Societal Impact (formerly the London Benchmarking Group) is a network of corporate community investment professionals that apply the B4SI model, developed in partnership with Corporate Citizenship, to measure and assess the impacts of investments on communities. The application, development and continuous improvement of this model is the result of the involvement and contribution of more than 130 organisations worldwide.

CDP – Disclosure Insight Action (formerly the Carbon Disclosure Project) is a non-profit organisation that encourages investors, companies and cities to measure and manage the risks and opportunities of environmental impacts. The Group responds to the CDP Climate Change, Water Security and Forests questionnaires each year.

Código de Conduta da UE sobre práticas empresariais e comerciais responsáveis

The EU Code of Conduct is one of the first deliverables of the Farm to Fork Strategy. It sets out the actions that the actors “between the farm and the fork”, such as food processors, food service operators and retailers, can voluntarily commit to undertake to tangibly improve and communicate their sustainability performance.

EuroCommerce is the main European organisation representing the retail and wholesale sectors. These sectors provide a link between producers and more than 450 million European consumers, employ 26 million people directly and create opportunities for small suppliers and international businesses. EuroCommerce embraces national associations in 28 countries representing around 6 million companies, from multinationals to small family businesses.

The European Climate Pact is an initiative inviting people, communities and organisations to participate in climate action. Launched by the European Commission, it is part of the European Green Deal and aims to help the EU meet its goal to be the first climate-neutral continent by 2050. Some of its initiatives include awareness campaigns along with the implementation of sustainable consumption and production solutions.

The Forum Odpowiedzialnego Biznesu (Responsible Business Forum) is Poland’s most recognised non-governmental organisation, addressing the concept of corporate responsibility in a comprehensive manner. Operating since 2000, it has developed and established partnerships in critical social responsibility undertakings.

LEAN & GREEN

The Lean & Green European platform aims to contribute to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions associated with logistics. The initiative, currently implemented in 16 countries, has already allowed the reduction of 2.5 megatonnes of carbon dioxide emissions and involves the participation of more than 600 companies, including Biedronka and Pingo Doce.

The Pacto de Mobilidade Empresarial para Braga (Braga Corporate Mobility Pact) is an initiative promoted by BCSD Portugal and the Braga Municipal Council. It aims to contribute to a more sustainable mobility in the municipality of Braga through concrete actions, to which companies are committed, allowing the reduction of their carbon footprint, sharing knowledge about sustainable mobility and promoting interaction with other companies, local organisations and institutions.

Pacto de Mobilidade Empresarial para a Cidade de Lisboa

The Lisbon Corporate Mobility Pact is a commitment promoted by BCSD Portugal, the Lisbon City Council, the World Business Council for Sustainable Development, and over 120 companies and institutions. It aims to contribute to a more sustainable mobility in Lisbon by implementing actions to which companies commit and encouraging new behaviours and solutions in cross-collaboration with their employees, suppliers and customers.

Pacto Português para os Plásticos

We are founding members of the Pacto Português para os Plásticos (Portuguese Plastics Pact), an initiative coordinated by Smart Waste Portugal, with the support of His Excellency the President of the Republic, the Ministry of the Environment and Climate Action and the Ministry of the Economy and the Sea. The pact is part of the Ellen MacArthur Foundation’s Plastics Pact Network. It is a collaborative platform for a circular economy for plastics in Portugal.

The Polski Pakt Plastikowy (Polish Plastics Pact) is a platform for cooperation between participants in the plastic packaging value chain, including retailers, industry associations, NGOs and universities. is part of the Ellen MacArthur Foundation’s Plastics Pact Network. The Pact is also part of the 17 Goals Campaign (Kampania 17.Celów), which mobilises Polish businesses to engage in the implementation of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

Founded in Zurich, Switzerland, in 2006, the RTRS fosters a multistakeholder environment and facilitates dialogue on responsible soy through the development, implementation and monitoring of a certification standard and the engagement of all stakeholder’s part of the soy value chain.

The Consumer Goods Forum

The Consumer Goods Forum is a global network for collective action between retailers and producers in the fast-moving consumer goods industry to accelerate and drive positive change on strategic issues: environmental and social sustainability, health, food safety and traceability. We are part of several coalitions: Forest Positive, Human Rights – Working to End Forced Labour, Plastic Waste, Collaboration for Healthier Lives, Product Data and Global Food Safety.

Tropical Forest Alliance

The Tropical Forest Alliance (TFA) aims to support the private sector in removing commodity-driven deforestation from supply chains. It works on Forest Positive jurisdictional and multistakeholder initiative concepts, fostering collaboration between producer and consumer countries to reduce deforestation linked to the production of key commodities in their regions – Latin America, Africa, South Asia, China and Europe.

The United Nations Global Compact is a UN initiative organised in local networks, designed for companies committed to aligning their culture and strategies with the 10 Principles in the areas of Human Rights, Labour Practices, Environment and Anti-corruption. By joining these networks, companies and other stakeholders promote the exchange of experiences and collective development. The Group is a participant of the Portuguese network and Biedronka is a member of the Polish one.
